Drug use and addiction can affect virtually every aspect of an individual’s life. Continuous substance use may develop into psychological or physical dependence that negatively affects behaviors, relationships, and mental and physical health. With the help of licensed addiction specialists, therapists, and peer support, individuals will begin to believe in their ability to enact positive change and work toward healing their lives and bodies from the effects of substance use.

Crescent Moon Recovery in Orange County, California, offers those suffering from substance use disorder (SUD) multi-modal therapeutic approaches to promote the healing of the mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of recovery. Having community support plays a huge role in recovery, and Orange County is a national hub for the recovery community.

Along with this supportive community, the beautiful Southern California climate and beaches make a great environment for our participants to involve themselves in a group of like-minded, sober individuals who can encourage them and hold them accountable in recovery.

Begin Your Journey at Crescent Moon Recovery

Crescent Moon Recovery will help anyone struggling with substance use by providing them with resources and treatments that will help rebuild their life in recovery. By utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities through group and individual therapy guided by licensed therapists and psychiatrists, our participants will approach their trauma and substance use in a gentle, non-judgmental manner, and dedicate their lives to maintaining their health and wellbeing.

Our staff at Crescent Moon acknowledges the lowered success rates of the conventional model of addiction treatment. This is why we begin enriching our participants’ lives and teaching them valuable skills for managing stress and upholding responsibilities the moment they begin treatment. Our main focus is preparing our participants for their lives in the real world. Our passion is to help our participants reinvent their lives for long-term recovery.

Individualized Treatment Programs

Here at Crescent Moon Recovery, we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to recovery treatment. Through a thorough evaluation of each of our participants, our clinical team will develop an individualized treatment plan that will best fit their unique needs in recovery.

By evaluating these aspects of our participants’ lives, Crescent Moon Recovery’s licensed professionals will customize a plan that will best contribute to their success in recovery. Our evaluation will include a participant’s:

  • History with addiction (withdrawal symptoms, relapse, overdose)
  • Medical history
  • Relationship and family struggles
  • Co-occurring disorders
  • Goals in recovery

Evidence-Based Treatment Modalities

Interventions that have been proven to be effective in treating addiction, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), lie at the core of Crescent Moon Recovery’s mission. By utilizing these therapies, our team will remain present in every stage of our participant’s recovery and help them achieve long-term sobriety.

CBT will help individuals identify negative thought patterns and self-destructive behavior and encourage them to take advantage of positive coping mechanisms rather than returning to substance use. DBT will help individuals cope with stress, anger, and anxiety through mindfulness techniques and meditation, further encouraging the practices learned through CBT.

What is MAT

MAT, or medication-assisted treatment, involves the use of medications and behavioral therapies to treat individuals suffering from substance use and co-occurring disorders. Medications are administered under the supervision of medical professionals and technicians, and they are approved by the FDA for the treatment of SUD.

Using medications for SUD can benefit participants by:

  • Reducing cravings and the probability of relapse
  • Addressing and treating dangerous or uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms
  • Treating the symptoms of co-occurring disorders
  • Safely wean them off of substances they are physically dependent on

The ultimate goal of MAT is long-term sobriety. While MAT for opioids may last for up to a year, physicians will determine the proper course of treatment for their participants that will encourage long-term recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Orange County Addiction Treatment Programs

Because Orange County is a national hub for the recovery community, it makes a great location for resources, meetings, and more immersive treatment for SUD. Crescent Moon Recovery offers addiction treatment programs in an outpatient setting, allowing participants to live at home or in supplied sober living houses while undergoing treatment.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Crescent Moon’s PHP in Orange County provides clients with 24-hour monitoring and a consistent schedule of group and individual therapy, wellness classes for nutrition, MAT, and dual-diagnosis treatment. This is our most immersive program for addiction treatment and will provide individuals with a safe place to recover from SUD. A typical program will involve participants being on-site for 20 to 30 hours per week.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Because IOP will involve participants coming to Crescent Moon Recovery during the day and returning home in the evening, it is an addiction treatment program that generally follows inpatient treatment. Participants are allowed more freedom with intensive outpatient programs, so they will need to be completely sure that they have come far enough in their recovery to prevent relapse should they feel tempted.

Outpatient Treatment Program

Outpatient rehab will focus on transitioning participants into their regular responsibilities and everyday lives. Returning to work, maintaining a household, and managing physical and mental health can be a lot to juggle, especially for those in recovery. Outpatient rehab will help participants rebuild their lives, discover hobbies, and prepare them for employment so they are ready once they graduate from the program.

Alumni Services

Once participants of Crescent Moon Recovery complete their program, they will be invited into our Alumni Membership where they will be invited back for barbecues, events, and meetings where they can speak to current participants about their journey. This will remind them of where they started and motivate them in recovery to live fulfilling lives helping other people overcome SUD.

Building fellowship and maintaining meaningful, sober relationships will help individuals focus on their self-directed lives in recovery. Providing alumni services to graduates of an addiction treatment program will also reduce the risk of relapse by providing them access to the same professionals who played a large role in their recovery.

Crescent Moon Recovery acknowledges this challenge, so we begin to open our participant’s minds to all the sober fun they can have. These activities can inspire individuals to start new hobbies and discover unknown passions, fulfilling their new, changed lives in recovery. Crescent Moon Recovery Sober Living Houses

Crescent Moon Recovery and our trusted partners provide the participants of our outpatient treatment programs with sober living opportunities close to the beaches in Orange County. When participants begin an outpatient treatment program for SUD, they may find that they are having trouble holding themselves accountable in recovery. Returning home after treatment each day where they have no supervision can be too daunting for some people, especially early in recovery.

Sober living houses benefit individuals in recovery by:

  • Inviting them into a home of fellow recovering individuals that will support their decision to remain sober.
  • Decreasing the risk of relapse because participants will have others to hold them accountable and support them through recovery.
  • Encouraging companionship and peer support, enriching the lives of everyone in the home.
  • Acting as a transitional step from inpatient care to living on their own, increasing the likelihood of long-term recovery.

Orange County Meetings

Beginning one’s life in recovery typically requires an individual to build new, positive, sober connections with people who will support their decision to abstain from drugs or alcohol. Beginning to visit support groups for SUD in recovery will give people the opportunity to meet new friends and make meaningful relationships that can encourage their self-directed life.

Continuing to attend these meetings will educate participants on substance use and allow them to learn from others who have been in similar situations. Having a group of supportive people who expect their attendance each week will hold them accountable and motivate their efforts to live a sober life.

There are many different types of meeting across the Orange County area such as:

  • Narcotics Anonymous
  • Alcoholics Anonymous
  • SMART Recovery
  • Refuge Recovery
  • Other 12-Step Groups

These meetings will encourage individuals to continue their efforts of leading a healthy, fulfilling life in recovery. Continuing to receive addiction support following a SUD treatment program has been proven to reduce the risk of relapse and deadly overdose.
